Implementing Web Standards

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), with other standards bodies and groups, establishes technologies for creating and interpreting web-based content. The technologies, which we call 'web standards', are designed carefully to deliver the maximum benefits to the greatest number of web users while ensuring the long term viability of documents published to a website.

Using standards to design and build websites simplifies and lowers the cost of production, but also enables us to deliver websites that are accessible to more people and more types of web browsing devices. As web browsing and the traditional desktop browser evolves and as new devices are produced, sites that include these standards will continue to function correctly.

We apply web standards to our sites. Our site and our customers sites conform to both CSS and XHTML guidelines as set by the W3C. Our sites also meet all automatic checkpoints in terms of web accessibility wherever possible according to AAA guildelines. Read our Web Accessibility Statetment for more about this.
